my dress for the Willow Manor Ball

My wardrobe consultant just informed me that my dress has been delivered! A slight alteration was needed in the bust line to fit me perfectly.  It's Tatyana's stunning ruby-red satin ball gown, period circa 1836, worn by Liv Tyler in  the Martha Fiennes film, Onegin.

In case you might not have heard, the cyber event of the year, the fifth annual Willow Manor Ball, is this Sunday, October 28.  The manor doors will open at 12:01 a.m., because the ball miraculously lasts a full 24 hours.  A link will be provided for you to sign in, and have others visit your blog, to see your lovely attire, and meet your date.  Come one! Come all!

  4. Fabulous gown, Tess! I'm still deciding between two. This date business is getting annoying-jealous husband, dusting the dirt off the deceased, etc, etc. I may just bring my poodle. He's much better company than most anyway!

  6. Bear regrets that he will not be able to attend this year's festivities. He has another engagement. Such a pity.

Your gown does look smashing! Better than anything this Bear could find.

    Blessings and Bear hugs.

  7. The Willow Manor Ball?! This Sunday?! Larks! I shall have to scurry around and find my dress. I do have a 1930s number, all green lace with a chic belt, that might be suitable. But I am thinking something more magical, maybe... Hopefully will see you there! :-)
